The short version
Burnlock is a motivation tool, not a medical device and not a security product. Premium is an auto-renewing subscription billed by Apple, cancellable at any time in your Apple Account settings. Nothing here takes away rights your local consumer law gives you.
1. Licence
Bebra Apps grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Burnlock on Apple devices that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, decompile, resell or redistribute the app, except where that restriction is prohibited by law.
Where Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies, these terms supplement it; where the two conflict on a point Apple's agreement governs, Apple's agreement prevails.
2. What the app is, and is not
Burnlock reads workouts and active energy from Apple Health and converts them into minutes of screen time, then shields the apps you choose until you spend those minutes.
It is not medical advice
Burnlock is a general wellness and motivation tool. It does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition and it is not a medical device. Nothing in the app is a recommendation about how much you should exercise or how many calories you should burn. Consult a qualified professional before beginning or changing any exercise programme, and stop if you feel unwell. Do not exercise beyond what is safe for you in order to earn screen time.
It is not a security product
Shielding relies on Apple's Screen Time frameworks. A determined user can remove the app, revoke its permissions, or change iOS settings. Burnlock is designed for people who want a commitment device, not for enforcing restrictions on someone who is trying to defeat them. Do not rely on it for parental control or any purpose where a bypass would cause harm.
The figures are estimates
Calorie and step figures come from Apple Health and the devices that feed it, and they are estimates. We do not guarantee their accuracy, nor the accuracy of the minutes derived from them.
3. Requirements
Burnlock requires an iPhone running iOS 18 or later, permission to read Apple Health, and permission to use Screen Time. An Apple Watch is recommended but not required. iCloud is used to sync your balance between your own devices. Without these permissions parts of the app will not function.
4. Subscriptions and payment
- Burnlock is free to download. Burnlock Premium is an optional auto-renewing subscription that unlocks the features listed on the purchase screen.
- The price, billing period and any introductory or trial terms are shown in the app before you confirm, in your local currency.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase.
- The subscription renews automatically unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple Account is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the end of the period.
- You can manage or cancel the subscription in Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your device. Deleting the app does not cancel it.
- If a free trial is offered, any unused portion is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
All purchases are processed by Apple and are subject to Apple's terms. Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us — request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. Where your local law gives you a statutory right of withdrawal, that right applies regardless of anything in this section.
5. Acceptable use
- Use Burnlock only for lawful purposes and in line with these terms.
- Do not attempt to falsify health data to earn minutes. The app applies limits and sanity checks, and may decline to credit activity it cannot trust.
- Do not interfere with, disrupt or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the app or the services it uses.
6. Your content
If you send a support request, you give us permission to use what you wrote to answer it and to fix the problem you describe. Do not include information you would not want us to read. See the Privacy Policy for what is sent.
7. Availability and changes
We may update, change or discontinue the app or any of its features at any time. We may also change these terms; if we do, the date at the top of this page changes and the current version is always published here. Continuing to use Burnlock after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Some features depend on services we do not control — Apple Health, Screen Time, iCloud, the App Store. We are not responsible for their availability or behaviour.
8. Intellectual property
Burnlock, its name, its design, its artwork and its code are owned by Bebra Apps and protected by copyright and other laws. These terms do not transfer any ownership to you.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Burnlock is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will produce any particular result. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bebra Apps is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, lost profits or loss of goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use Burnlock. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for it in the twelve months before the claim, or ten euros.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.
11. Apple
These terms are between you and Bebra Apps, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it. Apple is not responsible for addressing any claim you or a third party has relating to the app, including product liability, legal or regulatory non-compliance, or consumer protection claims. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
12. Termination
You may stop using Burnlock at any time by deleting it. We may suspend or end your licence if you materially breach these terms. Sections 8 through 11 survive termination.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ukraine, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live, and may bring proceedings in your local courts.
